Whats the best deer cartridge?

ok my buddy and I didn't see eye to eye on the best cartridge for deer, rather its whitetail, blacktail or mule deer. What do you guys think? What's the Best Deer Cartridge? Myself likes the 8mm mauser.

Not sure if you are just poking fun with this question that has been beat to death. You have a thread on best rifle for your son and I think answers are the same. 7mm-08 and 6.5 CM are both great rounds for deer with lots of rifle and ammo options. Reload or not, ammo availability matters if you travel.

Some in this thread are claiming the 6.5 Creedmoor, while others are saying it has to be a RUM. Obviously, the choice is 6.5 RUM.

Regarding the CM. It is nothing less than a miracle that I have put so much venison in my freezer for nearly 50 years without owning one.
Us old guys didn't know that you can't kill deer without the greatest cartridge in the world.
