Oh, nothing much. My house almost burned all the way down though!

Has anyone been in this situation? So far I've hired a public adjuster or PA to counter the insurance adjuster and I've got some good friends that are construction contractors.

Funny thing is the Fire Department investigator said that it looked like an intentional fire and the insurance investigator has drawn the same conclusion. I know that I haven't pissed off anyone that bad lately (cept for minimoose

) and my ex and I don't get along all that well and the order of protection I had against her expired 3 years ago with out any other incidents.

Two neighbors who ran in the house to rescue stuff found a teenager in the house before they got there and he appeared to be rescuing stuff too, but when the Fire Department got there, he exited stage left!

What's even funnier, neither investigator wanted the address or phone number of my neighbors! I would think that they would want to talk to witnesses while this kids description is fresh in their minds!

Oh, well. The important thing is that no one was home and all of the animals were rescued. Things could have been a lot worse.

I think I have everything covered, but I'm open for suggestions if y'all can think of anything.

Thanks!

Wow... sorry to hear that

And glad everyone is o.k.
I never encountered any thing like that myself, but a little word of advise to you, call the Insurance commisioners office in Arizona and make sure your adjuster is licensed in your state, as we just went through a bunch of Bull S**t with Bill's accident and the adjuster wasn't licensed in Wyoming.
So when all said and done, and everything is settled, which is them replacing my visor, 5 days after we got the truck back I went to pull down the visor and the mirror was cracked and they said it couldn't have happened in the accident, but it wasn't like that before the accident, so as I started to go through paper work and I realised the adjuster was from out of state, I called the Insurance commisioners office to find out he wasn't licenced here and they have very strict rules and regulations, and laws in Wyoming.
So when everything is settled I am pursuing the matter with the adjuster.
So my whole point to you is find out all the ins and outs in your state.
Good luck with the whole thing.

Thanks LB! I've done my homework and my PA has a great reputation and is state licensed. I'm sorry about your past dealing with your insurance company. Hopefully things will go smoothly, although I'm pretty shaky inside trying to deal with this. I've heard some horror stories. I'm trying to keep in high spirits though.

Insurance companies are a nightmare. Hurricane Gloria blew the roof over our house back in the 80's we suffered water damage to the wallboard because of the rain, and a severly damaged roof. The adjuster came while I was at work, and talked to my wife. They gave her a check for $700 to pay for everything. We had to pay for the damages and fight for almost a year to get a reasonable settlement.
Last year a drunk hit me headon and totaled my truck. After 2 months of fighting with his insurance company we came to settlement amount on my vehicle. When I got the check, it was $600 short. I called them they said I could keep the truck as salvage, thats why they deducted it. I told them we ain a junk yard. They said its the law its your truck. Had to go thru the insurance commission on that one.
Be careful with those assholes.

Amen Sister!

John my Brother and Sister In Law live in Chandler so if there is anything I may do let me know! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I think I would at least speak with the police about the possibility of arson being mentioned and that possibly there may be potential witnesses which are possibly being ignored.
