Any Blue Book aficionados around? Looks like it was made in 1968, field grade with 3" chambers. Probably 95% on the wood and blueing.

Trying to generate funds to buy a used KIMBER 8400. Thanks.

Edit: 12 gauge with 28" barrels.

Standard 101 field variation is about $500 on the low end and $950 on the top end. With the 3" chamber and 28 inch tubes ,you might have a different field variation than the standard one though. 27th Blue Book lists a 101 Field Variation Special w/ 3" chambers & 27 inch tubes for $1350 - $600 depending on condition. Any marks on the receiver? Pics would be helpful in determining variation. Some of the special ones run upwards of $2500.

Here are some photos Ben. Actually, they are 30" barrels.

If it's the Field Watefowl model it's worth about $2000 in mint condition to $700 in 60%. Yours does look to be about 90%.

The B on the frame is the tell, but I'm not finding how to identify the specific model yet. If it's the straight field, then I'd be comfortable putting a $1000 price tag on it. Is the recoil pad original?

Yes, original recoil pad. There is a "P" that is directly above the "B", kind of hard to see in the photo.

Edit: Any recommendations on a site to sell this? Gunbroker?

Before you sell it anywhere, find out the exact model. It's a $1K difference. I'll keep looking around to see what I can find on the P & B. It's certainly not a pigeon grade gun, but I think it's more than just a standard field. 30 inch barrels choked full from 1968 scream waterfowl to me.

As for sites: I'd try Gunbroker & Gunsinternational. If a Cabela's is close by, I'd take it to the gun library and see what they think. Consignmnet may take a little off the top, but it's nice to have someone else sell the shotgun.

Full/full would be very unusual for a field gun. It could very well be a waterfowl.

You might try Trapshooters.com The gun could pull interest from a trap shooter or a Winchester collector which there are a number of them that hang on that sight.

24 hour campfire classified has a number of Winchester collectors that watch it.

I mention those just because there is no listing fee.

I saw a decent 101 field at cabelas the other day probably a tiny bit better shape for $1200. mod/full
