Having finally arrived home from a business trip from Austin, I won't be travelling to the states anytime soon now. Being denied my Nexus Status while being questioned long enough for me to miss my flight has pissed me off. I was questioned for 3 hours my colleague who is Puerto Rican was questioned for 4 hours. No wonder tourism has taken a big blow lately

Tourism has taken a blow? Does this mean I won't have to stand in line 3 hours to ride the Matterhorn or Space Mountain?

Possibly. It also means that your tax base will take another hit and you'll be expected to help make up the difference.

I didn't realize it had taken a hit either. I saw something where national park attendance was at an all-time high, with many visitors being foreign tourists.

Total tourism was up 8% last year, have fun in those Disney lines...

last year it was up, that was before you gave a manchild the nuclear codes.

Yeah, I am sure National Park attendance has sky rocketed to an all-time high since January 20.

Nothing easier than taxing motel rooms and car rentals on out of town, non-voters. Never having to face the guy you tax in a voting booth is free money.

In my personal experience our friends to the North have always been WAY stricter on us southerners visiting Canada than the U.S. has been on them visiting down here.

Been turned back at the border before because we didn't have a credit card and not enough cash if our car would have just happened to break down. Had to turn around and come home.

Had our car nearly torn apart (they removed the seats completely out of the car) looking for contraband that wasn't there. (At least they let us through that time).

I'm not allowed up north because of a mistake I made in high school and got a DUI...The one time I tried to go I was called a liar by the border guard because I didn't know I wasn't able to visit. That's just not something you research. Spent most of a day detained while they harassed my sister about being an accomplice. Cannukistan won't be seeing a dime of my tourist money.

I've never had any problem getting into Canada...I got more crap from the US side, trying to get back in.

Last weekend I headed north. Note to all, don't have a box of waterfowl loads under the seat and not tell them about it. I was detained for a bit while they tried to track down the non-existent shotgun in my pick-up.

On the way back in I was asked how long I was in Canada. Maybe 20 seconds and then continued home.

Should have told them you were an illegal from Mexico. You could have gotten free education and healthcare.

It's all good, the weed revenue is high than expected, so much they are refunding money....:hump:

Traveling to CA is like going to a foreign country.

It's about time is my two cents our boarders need to be tighter.

Yeah, because I think we all watched that documentary on how Canada is a threat to us....

Used to be good money and good exercise backpacking weed in from Canada along much of the border.....

Or, so I heard...
