The Frozen Four college hockey game between Minnesota and North Dakota came down to Minnesota scoring a SHORTHANDED goal with 0.6 (yes, less than 1) second left by a guy who hadnt scored all year barely going in off the pipe. You cannot possibly draw it up any wilder than that! Go Gophers!!!

That was one of the best college hockey games I have ever watched. Amazing finish. Two of my three favorite college hockey teams playing to get to the championship. Too bad that was not the title game.

Go gophers!

Congrats to the Gophers as they made the plays to win the game. Still in shock....Reminded me wayyyy to much of the Auburn vs Bama game. You can't make that stuff up. We had an all day shaker for the game with TONS of UND alum and I can't remember seeing so many pissed off individuals at one house lol. Gotta love sports!

Fighting Sioux for life :)

That game was incredible! Do I smell another national championship for the rodents of the north? I sure hope so!

AFN (Armed Forces Network) was playing this game while I was in the cardio room tonight. Got to watch the whole thing and that was amazing. I finished my workout with 3:30 left in the game. So I just walked on the treadmill that was right in front of the TV till it was over. Glad I got to see that.

I didn't hardly sleep last night. Just kept reliving the game. I am obviously a Sioux hockey guy, therefore it is breed into me to hate the Gophers. But after the game I was in shock. I was dissapointed that the underdog Sioux lost, but was so impressed with how well this team of no-namers played. This game will be remembered by this Sioux fan as one of the best I've seen. That's saying a lot considering it was a last second loss to the Gophers to go to the National title game! Deep breaths, deep breaths...

I don't get this part? That is like saying your favorite NFL teams are the Packers and the Vikings or your favorite baseball teams are the Red Sox and the Yankees...

It was an incredible game in which I thought UND was the better skating team. They had momentum on their side after they tied it up and simply couldn't get another by Wilcox. Both he and Gothberg were awesome.

It was a awesome game, from the sounds of it the aftermath is being considered a riot. I wonder what they will call it if they win this next one?

I'll try to explain. I grew up equal distance from UMD (Minn-Duluth) and UND. All my friends went to one of those two schools, with more going to UMD. I went to "The U" in Minneapolis, before transferring out west.

I always hope for the Gophers, due to having went to school there. UMD and UND are high on my list because growing up, those are the two schools nearby that you cheered for. Plus, they are usually the overlooked under-dog.

I would have been happy if UND won that game, just a slightly bigger smile that the Gophers won. Whoever won, I was hoping they would get to play Boston College and give the blowhard east coast hockey media something to whine about.

That is way different than being a Vikings fan and liking anything about the Packers. That would be blasphemy; grounds for losing your citizenship; basis for a decade of solitary confinement in the Siberian gulags; or maybe even something as severe as being stripped of your 2nd Amendment rights.

Yep, I am in the same boat as Large Fin. I know a lot of UND and NDSU grads and pull for them unless they are playing my lovable rodents.

But good news! Union is a New York school, so the east coast cidiots will get their chance to whine I hope. Maybe the Eastcoast Sports Promotion Network will even join in.

All I know is this, based on the current state of sports in MN, this game tomorrow is the pinnacle of our sporting interest! Ski-U-Mah!

Ugggg. I just read an ESPN preview of the championship game and they talked about how much talent Union has and almost made it sound like MN is the underdog and they dont have as good of talent, then you see these stats in a sidebar: MN has 14 NHL draft picks, Union has 1. Not taking anything away from Union, but why cant ESPN recognize that MN has some pretty good talent on this team? East Coast bias yet again.

Being a UND alum and Sioux fan, that was a heartbreaker. I could barely even sleep Friday night after the game. Had they won, I was going out to Philly for the game so that made it even tougher to see them lose.

Since I live in Grand Forks, I don't see much of the dual citizenship jazz. Being an NDSU guy I neither rooted for nor against UND in this matchup.

I got a call bright and early Friday morning from a coworker checking to see if I was too sick to make it into work after UND lost. Told them it would take more than UND loosing for them not to see me, only because Turkey season didn't open until Saturday moring!
