I was able to spend most of last week hunting in Montana with my brother, looking for both deer and elk. I passed up a few bucks that in the past I would have shot, not sure if they weren't big enough or if the "buck to truck distance" ratio means I'm just getting old and lazy? We found cows, but I had my hopes on a bull and so for me a great trip ended without a shot fired and me anxiously looking forward to doing it again next year. My bother got a buck and while helping him clean it I found out just how sharp those Havalon knives are, stuck it in the inside of my knee. The next 3 days it was pretty sore hiking around, but I still like how sharp they make their blades. Anyway, here are a few scenery pics and a couple pics of my brother's buck.

Nice photos, those surgical blades are no joke. Glad it wasn't an emergency for you. Your brother shot a nice buck, congrats to him.

Looks like great country and your brother killed a nice buck! This is probably a dumb question but what is the thing on the end of your rifle barrel?

It's a suppressor/silencer. My son started using one a couple years ago when he started to shoot competitively, after shooting his rifle I was hooked. They don't 'silence' things like the movies portray, but they do make a very noticeable difference in sound and recoil. I have near-constant tinnitus and poor hearing, I wish I would have started using suppressors years ago.

As the saying goes, a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one. I agreed with that until I got a Havalon. Suddenly I started cutting myself more...
