The roe buck rut has just started over here.
When i arrived at the farm yesterday evening the farmers tenants were waiting outside seated in their chairs, (they didn't see me arrive) i assumed they were watching the sun go down, but as it transpired they were waiting for something else!
I worked my way slowly around some fields using the call all the time, within 15 minutes i spied this roe buck making his way towards me, sadly he was standing on the brow in an unsafe position, but walking towards me and getting more unsafe with each step he took, realising i was going to get busted with the wind i decided to just 'spook' him, he took off barking as he went, but i knew just like every other Roe Buck i have ever stalked he would stop and look back, he did, about 150 yards away, i gave him another 'squeak' on the Buttalo call and nailed him, he has got a half decent head.
Drove round, put him in the truck, went back to see the farmer who informed me his latest tenants are conservationists and they were waiting to see the Roe Buck!

Cheers
Richard
