Kenton and LCH, no we didn't have any trail cam pics of this bull. We got a few as he wallowed just before the shot though. We have new bulls on the cameras every time we swap memory cards. The bulls move around a lot a d can't be patterned like whitetail. It's always a surprise to see what's on the cameras.
We are hunting Idaho.
Well, I finally got it done Thursday evening. This is definitely not the biggest bull in the woods, but he's my first archery elk and I'm thrilled with him! My nephew had to go to Montana this weekend and my hunting buddy couldn't get out of work. I decided to go hunt solo, I know, not the smartest thing to do. Any way I got this bull around 6:00 PM Thursday night. I skinned, quartered, and packed out the back straps, tenderloins, and some neck/rib meat that night. A few text messages and phone calls on the way out and help was on the way. We packed the head, front shoulders, and hing quarters out on Friday. Many thanks to Tom and Darrin!
