I feel kind of guilty, but I've been fortunate - between myself and my kids - over the last several years to almost always be able to draw a cow elk tag or two here in UT. That is extra to any bull (or buck) tags we may draw here or elsewhere. So while I don't hold out for B&C trophies only, usually at least wait for a bull (or buck) who has a few years under his belt so-to-speak, which usually allows us to enjoy the adventure, frequently feasting on tag soup, but still keeping meat in the freezer. For example, a crock pot of elk chili simmered its way to spicy deliciousness today.
