Looking at two different tripods...one has a 2-way panhead, and the other a 3-way panhead. The cost is good for me, and I prefer these because you can use them standing up too. Is there something else I'm missing besides one being just a little lighter than the other one? Also the 2-way just has one lever...the 3-way has two.

Maybe some of you have one of these out there and can chime in? Thanks.

Did you end up getting one of these??

I just received a Slik Pro II from amazon and the dang thing won't work with the Manfrotto video head I ordered.

Manfrotto ball/pan ultra-light for me.
Most outfitters I know here use Bog-pods.

I picked up the bog pod sling swivel attachment that goes on your rifle and converts the bogpod into a bipod or tripod when you stick it in. It is a great idea. The only problem is that Bog pod is running into a serious tolerance issue. The first one I got was too tight to fit in my 2 bog pods (tall and short). So I complained to Cabela's and Bog Pod and later got a replacement from both places. Only one of those worked since the other was too loose for me to use hunting. You could almost shake the rifle off of the bogpod legs. I ended up sanding down the first one a bit too much but it is now passable and the one that does fit is great and I honestly can't wait to take it on a hunt next weekend. I'm comfortable shooting out 400+ now.

Long story short - the sling swivel attachment works but be prepared to try more than one to get a snug enough fit to be usable in the field. Take your bogpod into the store if you can. Once it works, though, it is truly a great product and you no longer need to carry the rest in addition to your spotting scope adapter.

Had an epiphany this morning, and tried it..and am getting the proper panning motion on my PH-113V, so I think I'm golden, just going to pick up another Slik Pro tripod for it, and put a ball head on my other one for my daughter to use for her binos. Both setups will be under 3-lbs with the heads.
