Trekking poles

My Leki Ultralites have the flip locks. out of the box, they were loose and sucked. but I just tightened the nuts and they lock up tight now. So, if you get flick locks, just remember to adjust them so they hold tight.

I have a hard time spending top dollar on trekking poles because I inevitably leave them behind some place where they are lost forever.

I tie a 6" piece of flagging tape to the handles to help find them, but I've still come close to losing one before.

I have 2 pair: 1 carbon fiber, twist lock, 3-pc Z poles and 1 aluminum, snap-lock, telescoping. They each have they're strengths and weaknesses. Twist locks will eventually fail. Z poles can be a nuisance. Carbon breaks. I find myself going to the latter most of the time just for reliability.
