My wife wants to hang bells and ribbons and God knows WHAT else from my mounts hanging in the living room. I say it's sacrilege and disrespectful to the animal. What do you folks think?

I completely agree with you!

....my best whitetail is wearing a Santa hat right now.

I'm the one that voted, ''Well if it makes her happy''.

''Her'' being my 3 year old Granddaughter.

My home looks like Santas shop exploded right in the middle of it.

Newly weds. Go figure....
John, we have to do what we have to do... Believe me brother, your day will come when you are a grampy and all bets are off. I held my ground on this one though after 36 years.

I will adamantly refuse to allow anything like that...and my wife will do whatever she wants and I will tell her it looks nice :D

I'm not a big fan of decorating the taxidermy, but a couple of years ago after I did very little decorating outside for her I was told that I would allow my elk to be a stand-in for Rudolph.

For the Christmas spirit, well who cares! There are plenty of guys I know who's wives won't let them keep a mount in the house! I'd just go along with it, but I can understand where you are coming from.

I could care less. Like Havgunwilltravrel said, some can't keep a mount in the house. My wife has dealt with more mounts than she cares for without saying anything, because she knows I like it. She does the Christmas decorating, so if it makes her happy, she can have fun with my mounts for a few weeks out of the year. There's a reason we have been happily married for 25 years.

I would say it depends on your Wife's attitude about your hunting trips, I have friends that are not aloud to have a mount in there house. In my world, a happy Wife is a Good Wife.
but my Wife respects my space, and would never touch my Mounts. but if she did, I could live with it for a couple of weeks at Christmas.

I am not real keen on the idea but has been a trade off for not having a tree. Have been doing it for 20+ years.
Hint: Buy her lots of Christmas ornaments and when she runs out of antlers to decorate she will start to hint that you need to get another trophy. That is not all bad.

Yeah, stick a cigarette in their mouths while your at it. Don't forget to send us a picture with you riding it too. I'm joking of course, just my way of saying I think it would be disrespectful to the animal.

I noticed this the other day. Doesn't bother me too much. I did mention that at least she should have given him a "pair".
