Taxidermist in Indianapolis that did my javelina has a full body mount of a tiger in his living room. Got it from a guy that had some as pets. Mounted two, one he got to keep as payment for doing the other. I'd assume CITES permit would be needed, but not sure with things kept as domestics/exotics.

Mario Trabraue seems to be on a whole other level of criminal/dangerous predator than the rest of the characters and he was barely discussed. A drug kingpin who chopped up federal informants and was sentenced to 100 years in prison. But got out early and has a private zoo.
Also, makes a guy wonder how Don Lewis got his money. A businessman with multiple planes who liked to travel to Central America. How many millionaires in Florida during the 1980s weren't involved in drug trafficking? With how much money is needed to feed all of those critters a private zoo seems like a good option for laundering money.

Other than his shocking stupidity regarding gun safety, he struck me as true moron who just wanted to get high for free and posed little risk. But who knows.
