Kentucky recently released 883 "non-violent" inmates due to budget restrictions. Of those, 4 have since been arrested with further criminality: two for robbery (including a 3-bank spree and a kidnapping), one for fleeing police to avoid DUI charges, and then there's this gentleman:
quote:
Richard McGregor, 40, of Hopkinsville, was charged Monday with raping a 25-year-old woman Jan. 20, three days after he was released with four months and nine days left in his three-year sentence for fleeing police. He was being held in the Christian County Jail on $25,000 bond.

MY OPINION: Admittedly, the guy only had 4 months left regardless, and up until that point hadn't been a violent offender. But still, I should think that there are other places that money can be trimmed without turning CRIMINALS loose.
It seems that our Governor, who recently went through a sex scandal, knows that his political career is over and therefore doesn't give a crap about the "common weal" of the Commonwealth anymore.
