Got a wall tent this year and have a 35 gallon barrel stove for it. My question is.... what else do you guys or gals take with as accessories to the stove, for instance, do you take a heat barrier to put between the wall and the stove? I need to get a spark arrestor for the top, and am getting a shelf to set water for heating on welded up, but what else?

Thanks

On ours we have a shelf on one side and a water tank on the other. I think the water tank is probably the best accessory to go with a stove because it adds a touch of humidity, retains heat, and is there for a quick hand or dish rinse if needed.

I bought a Four Dog stove this year. It has a shelf on it, but I passed on the water heater. I'm thinking I might buy it now though. Other than the shelf, it just has the spark arrestor. I'm going to build a pipe support for it as well to make the pipe good and sturdy.

Some times spark arrestor are required by national forest. I have alaknak tent and I cut piece of hard insulation for floor in front of stove that fits into legs of barrel, helps a lot to protect floor and I set boots on it. I just sit a stainless coffee pot on it directly for hot water.

Tent is only a 10x 12 Montana canvas .. A guy my dad was working with wanted to sell the tent .. Frame setup , stakes, and the stove for $550.. Who wouldn't jump on that ?

For the water heating I have a 3 Gallon kettle. I am welding on a shelf to the barrel so I have a flat area for the kettle to sit on.

Amen .. I have one permanently in my pickup already! You never realize how often you use those little torches until you carry it all the time.
