Swan Valley

Hi: new member to this web site. 68/69 Vietnam vet ,corpsman 3rd Marine Div along DMZ, Quang Tri, I corps. Last time I hunted Sawn Valley was 1965. My dad took me before I left for boot camp.We hunted east side of valley, with no previous knowledge of area. Hunted Sheep, Rainey, Elk Creeks. In subsequent years my dad hunted with Tony Hinks. Does anyone know how the hunting is in this area. Just a good, or bad answer is ok. Semper fi

Swan Valley in Montana or Swan Valley in Idaho? (Or maybe there are more Swan Valleys?)
I hunt the Montana Swan for whitetails most every year. I would say deer numbers are good, though not what they were a decade ago, given snow fall, spring rains, forest succession, predator numbers, etc. It has been logged extensively since 1965!

Just speant 4 days hiking through the Sheep Creek / Waterfall Basin/ Pallisades lake area a couple weeks ago. Covered 30 miles in 3 1/2 days, so I have a pretty good pulse of the area. Didn't go up Big Elk Creek or Little Elk Creek.
