Well here is the story of my 1st adventure west. Left Fargo ND on Tuesday morning. Drove the 10 hour trip to my hunting unit and unpacked in the hotel. Got up early Wednesday morning and drove out to my unit and started seeing antelope right away. Passed on some bucks waiting for my cousin to arrive. After he made it there we started checking out spots and glassing more bucks. I made 1 stalk but the does busted me. Drove a 2 track into some BLM/state land. As my cousin was opening a gate I spotted a group of goats 3/4 of a mile away. The 2nd stalk was on. After a mile walk through a deep creek bottom we came to the end of it. Crawled up to the top and spotted this buck at 310. Dialed the scope and took aim. 1st shot I missed high. He ran about 20 yards and stopped. 2nd shot doubled lunges and he stood there. Put 1 more in to make sure and he dropped in his tracks.
The doe hunt was nothing great. Drive around and pick the biggest 1 and shoot.
Doe 1 we won't talk about my not so good shooting. 200 yards.
Doe 2 245 yards double lung ran 75 yards and piled up.
Thanks to all hunttalk members that have helped me out and to the new friends from here I met in Lusk. Wyoming is a blast and I will continue to come back.
