Storms...is everyone OK?

With the tornadoes and brutal storms rolling through the country yesterday, I wanted to see if all of us Hunt Talkers and their families were ok. Spook lives in Arkansas and I got ahold of him and he said he was ok and the bad storms missed his daughter in school by 15 miles. Are there other guys in the line of the storms? The news says there are more coming...

No tornados in MN, but has not stopped raining for two days now. If weatherman is right it will be mostly rain for all of this week. At that rate a good portion of the state could wash into Iowa. Nice of you to check on everyones welfare! Good man.

Thanks for checking in John. As is always the case with these disasters,there's lots of sad stories.

Why my sister lives in Searcy, Arkansas is beyond me. She is a well seasoned "tornado dodger." Last night was just one of many where they spent a few hours in a storm shelter. I'll take earthquakes, grizzly bears, 6" of fresh snow on April 28th, and the supposed Yellowstone super volcano, over the daily tornadic activity that she endures every spring.

Hope all are safe, across the midwest and southeast.

Tornadoes in four counties in the NE part of the state Friday. We don't have basements or storm shelters in this part of the world, water table is too high.Iit's just bend over and kiss your --- goodbye.

So far no one I know affected. Still waiting to hear about some acquaintances down in MS.

Did have a co-worker in No. Carolina who was about 1 mile off the path of that tornado. He lost several trees, but nothing serious.

Hit the northeastern part of the state. 2 dead in Quapaw, OK. I don't know why but I've lived here for over 30 years and have never seen a tornado myself.

Wife's sister and family live in Searcy and only about 5 miles from the damage. With no basement or storm shelter, scary situation for sure.

I live a couple miles south Tuscaloosa, Al. I had one pass by the house about 2 miles north of me about 10:30 last night. My family in North Alabama had a couple around them. One passed by my sisters house by about 1/8 of a mile. Another round is supposed to come in today. I am suppose to go to Nebraska turkey hunting Saturday. Hopefully I will still make it. It's weird, growing up here you become accustomed to it. I guess like weather systems in other parts of the U.S. I am just glad we haven't had a day like 4/27/11.

I think if I could ever get her up there she might change her mind. Although, we usually go to the beach atleast one week a month.....That could get expensive from Idaho.
