Steepest Rate of Gain You've Hiked

Last year's first unlimited trip was about 5600 ft over 6 miles or so with a 65lb pack.......I think coming down was worse my legs were jello. Like snowy says real steep to many to think about hahaha. But last years was pretty memorable

Opening morning of 1st rifle last year I scrambled about 1,450 vertical ft over less than 3/4 of a mile. Do not recommend.

Don't know the exact grade but there are places in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and the Crazy Mountains where I skinned my nose walking up the "trail".

S.O.B. Trail in Black Canyon of Gunnison River.
2 miles, 2000 ft elevation change.
Good fishing at the bottom, but watch out for poison ivy.
