Stand placement based off aerial/topo maps

Depends, what is there to eat in those fields. Whats the temp like? Rut?

just rye and wheat grass, 50 degrees Celsius, 2 nights ago, 2 bucks were caught out in one of the fields together. Its my buddies land, and he has let 7 does, a fawn, and a spike walk. 3 years ago a 16 point was killed by the neighbor with the 5 ponds. My buddies land hasn't been hunted in 4-5 years.

does anyone see any obv pinch points, funnels, or travel corridors right off hand..? I have my opinions, but I want others also. more eyes are better

The patch of woods under the word rason seems to be the most obvious pinch point/travel corridor.

In the NE corner of the east property there is a figure 8 of hardwoods surrounded by pines of which I would check out the middle.

thanks guys, stand in place at pinch point below word ranson, will definitely check the creek, and the pines in the middle of the figure 8

I would have a stand by that pond one the little finger picture. Hopefully you could catch them entering the field and during the rut you might find bucks getting water and using that line of woods to get to new bedding areas. My next stand location starting out would be on the bigger section to the right of the large pond center of the property. There is a little field that i would set up on that edge and see what is happening back there. If that stand doesnt seem to be right, during the rut i would go sit in the center of that big woods farther to the right. With all of that said I wouldnt ever have two stands on that property. I would start there and then add stands depending on what you see. Remeber that wind and quiet entrances are key to mature bucks. I also wouldnt touch the large timber until the rut starts.

With the broken timber, fenclines, and creek beds; I think I would still hunt rather than sit if other hunters weren't around. If I was forced to take a stand I would go near the creek at a crossing on the one plot or near what appears to be a pond with broken trees or brush in the second plot. On the second plot I would likely set up near the tree line over looking the pond and broken brush/timber area to the east of the pond.
