Hey all,
Once again this summer I've found a drop tine bull elk. The only problem is this year im having troubles getting within "camera" range. Today I found him with a few other bulls and they were wwwaaayyy out there. Here they are standing there(this is at full zoom so pic isn't very good). DT is 2nd from right:

So i then stalked them by using some draws and such and finally I was really close(assuming they haven't winded me yet). So when I finally crawl up and over the last little hill they are about 50 yards away just staring at me and of course, right away they take off. I was able to get a few running shots of them getting away but I am pissed i didn't get a good shot of them. I will try again tomorrow. Here's some parting shots of them, I barely caught DT in this pic:

This middle bull is probably the biggest of this group, DT avoided this pic also :BLEEP:

Hopefully tomorrow i will not blow the stalk....

Chasing DT (pics)

They call that a V8 sneak up here in Montana. Were you in the passenger side snapping photos or steering with one hand, snapping pictures with the other?? :D

Greenhorn,
LMAO i wish I could get to them in the truck this time. I first spotted them from the truck and right when they saw me they took off. I walked after them (after all its just little hills) and ended up spooking them back towards where I originally saw them. I don't take my truck off the road...would be nice though :)

Wyo, Great pics, keep em coming. Have you ever thought about investing in a 4 wheeler for chasing them down? You could close the gap about 50mph faster. Might be more forgiving than a pickup. Good luck with DT.
