Post your spring break camping photos and stories here.
This is my wife’s and I second annual trip to her parents place. We set up camp the exact same place, even had some wood left over from last year. The main difference being last year the lows were below freezing and this year it’s mid 60’s. Also the main discussions last year was the wedding and this year it’s the pregnancy. She’s three months along today and still wanting to sleep in a tent.
She also out fished me about 3-1 today but I attribute that to still having to unhook half of her fish.

Will add more pics throughout the week. Lots of fishing tomorrow and meeting up with my brother and nephew to do some hog, rabbit and coyote hunting this weekend.

We caught a lot of fish. Mostly 1-2lb bass and a few good sized perch. About once a year someone catches a really good sized bass. This year it was finally my turn. Caught on a ultralight spinning rig, 4lb line and a small roadrunner lure.

Don't you ever say that! You know not what you wish
Lol. I love TX and don’t see myself getting out now but if I had visited the Rockies a few years earlier I’d be in Wyoming or Montana right now.

Found some piglets after we woke momma and she ran off into the bush. I grabbed one for the boy to check out then returned it. Don’t know if momma will come back or not, coyotes will get them fairly quickly I reckon.

Well I almost started a new thread but figured I could just update this one. Did a semi solo two nighter while the wife and baby stayed in the barndo with the in-laws.

the teepee held up to some 30-40mph gust.

The spiders, scorpions and chiggers were already out. Thankfully I brought the inner tent. I also blasted a big coon that was crossing the creek heading for my fire.

Interesting side note, haven’t seen my nephew since this time last year due to covid and us having a baby.

The fresh waters fishery center is in our town and we visit a few times a year. This was Cora’s first visit. She already enjoys watching animals and being outside.
One of our longhorn.
