I'm trying to determine what the bell curve is like among the Hunt Talk Crowd for the degree of Hunting involvement among our other halve's...

Better be careful conducting a poll on here. Risky business this science stuff.
Unless you plan on just collecting it for no reason other than looking at it and thinking "huh....." After doing that for over three decades, I can tell you it's fairly unproductive.................................................
Anyways -
Some internet gems recently expressed (on HT) regarding folks who delve into data and such.........
"Not really sure how you keep politics out of science, because scientists are humans and all humans have bias".
".............scientist skew their results to get the outcome they desire so they can continue to get their grants".
So -
What's your underlying political objective and how much bank you making off this little survey?

I am an AOH (@33) so it was quite a bit into our marriage when I started. She grew up in the country, took hunters ed in HS, and was around hunting all the time. She is supportive of whatever I want to do hunting wise. Her and the kids will eat anything I harvest other than deer for some reason(?). I feel pretty lucky to have it the way I do.

The ex is a Brit & had never had real wild game til she met me,then I showed her how I acquire game & the meals. Game changer. She is a foodie & loves the outdoors,so I more than benefited.
Hikes were scouting trips. Vacations were scouting trips. Meals were critiques and adventures. Friends who also had not had game meals changed after just one.
She can hold her own in the kitchen, but was not fond of the from woods to table part perse. But what cuts & how it was cared for, she did have input.
On a recent trip here for a visit her one request was some game meat for a meal. So elk backstrap, grilled veggies and a pie was a hit.

My wife is nominally supportive. She says the right things in the offseason and she likes to have hunting paraphernalia as a gift-giving avenue for me on my birthday and at Christmas. And if she ever sees someone with a hunting sticker on their truck or talking about hunting in the line at the deli counter, she tells me about it with a nod like I should go over and make a new hunting buddy. However she can be a bit of a downer when it is during a hunting season and I am trying to schedule time to get out in the field or coming home disappointed about a missed opportunity - although she is the one who convinced me to go back out after a particularly bad day and that was the day I got my first deer.

She is a tremendous shot with a shotgun and she went out pheasant hunting once. She loves hiking and loves food. She's willing to try anything I make out of the meat I bring home and there are a few things she has really liked and requests. I wish I could get her to go out hunting with me as she is one of the few people I wish I spent more time with, but at this point I haven't been able to talk her into it. I also wish she was more supportive of my efforts to get our daughters involved. She doesn't have anything against that she has stated, but it is hard enough for me to find time and places to go out hunting let alone finding time to get the girls involved. It's an ongoing process for me with the goal of making a new hunting buddy out of her. We'll see how it goes.

My wife doesn't hunt but she supports my goals and eats what I bring home. She does like to fish though.

My ex wife barely tolerated my hunting exploits, but enjoyed eating the meat. My girlfriend isn't a hunter but is quite outdoorsy and enjoys going with me. I always thought as a youngster that I would like to have a wife who didn't hunt so I would have that time to myself or with my friends. But after kind of experiencing both sides, I now appreciate much more having a significant other who enjoys spending time outdoors with me no matter what we are doing. And she seems just as cool with it when I tell her I'm going alone :)

Girlfriend hunts & fishes> loves shooting and camping.

My wife enjoys it about the perfect amount. She likes to hunt, fish, and camp, and she puts in for most tags. She enjoys going but doesn’t want to go all the time and is good about me going solo or with friends too.

My wife hunted a little in the past but enjoyed our mule deer hunt last fall. In other words she's all for going out west on hunts but has no desire to hunt in New England unless it's for a moose

First post on the forum. My wife hunts with me on pretty much every hunt. There have been a handful of times when we didn't get to go together. But she loves to hunt and has been a quick learner on every aspect of the hunting lifestyle. We were both married before and both of our ex's didn't have anything to do with the outdoors... especially hunting. So when we found each other it has worked out fantastic for us as hunting partners. :)

Last year we hunted elk in Idaho, and it was our first non-resident hunting experience. It was a lot of fun, even though we were unsuccessful at harvesting an animal. Coolest part was, being able to bugle for elk during rifle season. She was elated to hear elk bugle, and it was fun to bugle and cow call to try to get them closer. Looking forward to our next Idaho hunt sometime.

My wife is my best friend and hunting partner for everything. She loves our DIY elk archery hunts out West every year and she always helps pack meat out.
This year we had 3 mile pack out in blowdowns around 10,500 ft elevation.
Very lucky guy

I wonder if there are any wives who hunt more than their husbands ?

I definitely loved bird hunting more than my husband and went alone at times. He probably enjoyed hunting "anything" more than I did. If we take into consideration that I hunted all my life and he didn't start hunting until late high school and of course I continued to hunt after he passed, I have hunted more years. I got picky and enjoyed Elk, Moose, Mule Deer, Brown Bear, Goat, Sheep, Coues deer and mountain lions. But lost interest in whitetail, black bear, speed goats, caribou, turkey, but he would hunt any of them, any time he could., even those stupid Javelin

My wife grew up in NM and on a longhorn ranch after her family moved to TX. Her dad hunted some years ago but she doesn’t remember eating wild game.
After we met she fell in love with venison and prefers it over beef. She has helped me process everything from rabbit to deer in the field and at home.
We leave for our honeymoon soon to hunt mule deer and bear in CO.
I’ve given her the choice to shoot a hog, deer or whatever this winter if she so chooses. If not, that’s fine too; I’m just happy to have her along.
I do still crave time alone and get as much as I need but she is always in my thoughts.

We hunt together a lot, but we also each have our hunts that we do on our own if the other person isn’t into it that day.

He enjoys bird hunting more than I do. I’ll go upland hunting alone if I’m in the mood and he’s gone, but usually it’s me who will sit some out sometimes. We both like antelope hunting and always do that together...it’s my favorite hunt we do together. But I spend a lot more time chasing deer and coyotes than he does. He’ll come with me sometimes, but if he doesn’t feel like it I’ll go alone. He says that he grew up packing out his Dad’s elk, so he doesn’t have much desire to elk hunt for himself. He does like to go with me though if I want to go. But most of our big vacations revolve around some kind of hunting trip. We both really enjoy those!
