The 2005 National Archery in Schools Tournament went well again this year, with 4 states now participating! Kentucky dominated again, but that's only because they've been at it longer than anyone else. As soon as Slydog and Moosie and Mo get their kids trained up I'm sure they'll be shooting in the tournaments, too (RIGHT, MOOSIE?!?). Seriously, it's an awesome program and I hope more states pick it up. In today's PC world, it's good to see so many kids doing so well with something that's *gasp* projectile related. ;)

Anyway, the young Mariko Nishimura made quite a splash with her second-place-winning shooting style...ancient, but unconventional by modern standards:

hey I think its great... all of my kids like to bow hunt and want to....lol
and I shoot just like the young lady in the pic... no sights just down the arrows....works great for me....

Thats the first time I have ever seen some one shooting a compound in the old Japanese style shooting technique... Pretty cool....I wonder how many others will start shooting in this manor? :)
