Agreed brother. They are Tough to whoop. I got a few on my mountain rifles. They are a dream to carry.

What is the length of the 1" tube? I have a nice Leupold, but the 1" diameter portion is too short to fit on my Savage 99.

Overall length of this model scope is 11.4 inches.

I think @David58 is asking for the mounting length (maximum between outside of rings) rather than overall length. I have an earlier model 2.5-8 on a long action Remington 700 and had an even earlier model on a Weatherby Mark V, so the mounting length on those models was pretty generous.
