I think my Traeger probe bit it. What are you guys using to monitor temperature? mtmuley

Meater.

Bluetooth’s to your phone, gives you meat temp and smoker temp with one probe. I spot check with a thermopen knock-off.

Lots of them out there to choose from. I would suggest a dual probe remote wireless. One probe does meat and the other monitors the smoker temp. They will start somewhere around $35. No real need for bluetooth expense when you have a remote monitor to look at.

I splurged for one of these on Friday for a batch of summer sausage. Worked great.

Hate most things tech, but having four readouts on my phone was kinda fun and allows you to see air/meat temp changes. Gave them my email for a free three year warranty, so I'm sure I'll be getting spam calls of "we have been trying to reach you about your temp probe's extended warranty...." before too long.

Nice thing about the Meater. You set thresholds (or select from preset like I did here for pork shoulder roast), and then you can check it from wherever you are.

Coming off for “the rest” now…
