Over the past year, I have been stockpiling supplies for a homemade smoker. This was one of those, "one day, I'll get to it" projects. But a few weeks ago, I was talking to a friend of mine that is a shop teacher. He was looking for a project for his welding class this semester. So I delivered my stockpile of junk and the kids started welding. Here are a few photos so far. It will be a 60" reverse flow smoker. Just big enough to handle around a 100lb pig whole. They still have to build a wood rack for the front, a rack for coolers, a shelf, and replace the coupler. Its coming along great though.
Two issues need to be resolved:
1.what will be the first cook?
2.what am I going to charge for a rental fee from all the guys that are already circling. case of beer, bottle of bourbon.......
