Junior took a good size for our grill feral pig a couple weeks ago. We're smoking the shoulders separately and adding some baby backs, sausage, and kielbasa. Our clan requested good ol Texican mesquite wood bbq....fine by me.

.

...some Head Country bbq sauce 1:1 with agua for baste and flavor, wrap with heavy duty foil....voila.

My big brother has been gone for 8 years now....this used to be a tradition for us. Stopped for a while, but man pork or beef brisket just doesn't get any better than slow mesquite smoke. I miss him today but know he's smiling. I'll tip a glass to Jimbo in a few hours.

Thanks guys,

That looks dang good!
Whole lot better than the lunch meat buffet my Gram puts on every Christmas Eve! LOL

Thanks guys,

Have one for me, Ken. Just in from shoveling the white stuff again.

Looks like you have got that all figured out. You are obviously not one of those jeans tucked into the boots type of Texan.:)

Dang, looks good. I'm more than a little jealous of the snow free conditions allowing for smoking this time of year.

My smoker gets fired up at 6am. Moose for mine.

Merry Christmas Ken!

Thanks guys,

Can't believe it has been 8 years now.

I cracked a bottle of Pappy 20 tonight. Cheers.

Congrats on some fine looking barbecue, keeping traditions and remembering your brother.

One of the best things about this board is how despite some vigorous debates and disagreements between members on certain subjects, most all seem to come together around family, friends, traditions and in the end our love of outdoor pursuits. I waste a lot of time cruising this board but it is as good a group as there is on the net to waste time with.

Merry Christmas to all.
