Coming from the Northeast, once firearm seasons open up you will find me in a pair of Johnson wool pants. They are plenty warm and quiet for a day of still hunting through the thick woods of Northern Maine or sitting on a stump during Mass shotgun, but their biggest drawback is they are not very wind resistant. I was looking through Sitkas offerings for our upcoming trip to SE MT (10/28-11/4) for a better option for pants. I currently own an older style Stratus jacket that I have been very impressed with. Would the Sitka Stratus pants be a good choice for that terrain and that time of year?? I would like to get double duty out of them once I return home to the whitetail woods especially later in bow season. So basically I'm looking for something that is quiet and cuts wind and can keep the chill off on a 15-40 degree day.
