You would have to go a long way to beat a Sharps model 1877 for simplicity and elegance. I waited 5 years to get this gun and when I did get it, I put it to work. Hunting with it I have killed deer, antelope and turkeys...

If you really want to test your mettle with dangerous game, how about an 1874 shiloh sharps in 45-70? I'd be willing to bet you'd make that first shot count

Have two and love em. If you practice, reloads are pretty quick.

I was able to shoot this cow twice in just a few seconds with a tc contender handgun. I just keep the ammo in a pouch on my belt where it’s easily accessible. View attachment 127729
