Are we allowed to talk about other hunting shows here?

I was watching one tonight that had more tools that a SnapOn sales truck...

The host managed 1/2 dozen "BooYah's" in about 30 seconds after downing his target. Just left me shaking my head.

Hearing the blond headed bimbo saying BBD got old fast also now I have the sportsmens channel wich isnt much better.I am begining to think OYOA is the only hunting program on tv anymore that has any class.Dont change a thing Fin you are doing a great job representing real hunters.

Makes me reach for the remote and fumble for the mute button. Saw a show a couple of days ago where the CW singer (Craig Morgan I think his name is), made a successful 96 yard bow shot on a goat and then went into an over the top emotional jig that embarrassed me to be in any way associated with hunting. Unless my eyes deceived me, I saw the arrow kick up dust short of it's target and then deflect upward into the animal. Saw the same thing on the replay too, so he isn't yet into the same class as Big Jim.

How about the shows where they spend the first half riding the tractor and planting their food plots.

Or how about the fancy computer graphics showing their stand set up like it's a freakin' football play...

Gotta confess, I don't watch any of em...I'll break out the OYOA DVD but don't subscribe to the networks. Too much Wadell yuk yuk, Tiffany baking cookies in full stage makeup, hillbilly handfishin', contrived gator drama, and duck ambushing.

That was Craig Morgan, it was a 96 yd cross bow shot. That one had me shakin my head too.

The show I was referring to is Fear no Evil. The guy had his face painted like he was Ray Lewis. I don't know the "hosts" name, but what an act.

I like the primos videos. Can't say much for old Buck McNeily....whoever.
And what is the range on crossbows? Seems how they are considered a firearm in Montana there isn't much use for them when you can use a rifle.

The Primos videos are entertaining just because of the characters they have on and the calling. I'd like to see them try to hunt some public land elk rather than Ted Turner's home grown tame bulls

I will however watch the Nuge any chance I get...not much for real hunting but extremely entertaining

After the wind damaged my house and the power went our on saturday I stayed at my moms place and even with 4 hunting channels including versus, pursuit, outoors, sportsmans you are still hardpressed to find a show worth watching most of the time.

It's amazing how almost every one starts out the same with their jacked up truck with $5,000 worth of wheels and tires pulling up to a nice lodge and greeting thier outfitter. It would be really funny to ask one of these celebrity hunters "how many of your animals on the tv program were taken on public land?" while they are speaking as hunting experts at a bass pro appearance.

There is a good one called Long Range Pursuit made by Aaron and Mike Davidson in Burlington, WY. They used to make the guns for the best of the west program but now do their own tv show and sell thier guns at gunwerks.com. Good guys, I went to thier shooting school last year.

The "fear no evil" show is about as gay as it gets. I'll admit to watching them. Good entertainment.

OYOA is the only show that I can actually say is really worth watching. I talked to one of my buddies about the show and he has his DVR set and has nothing but good to say about Randy's ahow. He is really excited about the regular guy going to places and not spending 5k to hunt out of state. Keep up the great work.

Most of those shows are a joke. I take alot more pride in my scraggely little raghorns that I chase every year than I would in a 350 bull shot in a alfalfa field.

First off... to each his own. Celebrate anyway you want to after a successful hunt. I always thought that I was the "ODDBALL" of hunters in that I don't fist-pump, knuckle smack, or high-five at least 10 ten times after a successful hunt (like all those guys do on TV). Just take joy in the hunt and smile.... well, then..... maybe I am an oddball... so be it.

I'll never be a TV celeb.

good luck to all
the dog

I hardly watch any hunting/fishing shows anymore because they seem to be the same. Someone sitting in a tree stand shooting their food plot whitetail or calling in a turkey

And where do they find these king of the trailerpark bubba type hosts? Randy & OYOA is truely a different kind of show. So nice to see a show mainly focused on western big game without some one trying to pimp out their magazine & books and preaching about only doing it public land, DIY, while filming shows on private land like the Hill ranch.

But I will admit that cant stop watching "Duck Commander" as far as other shows go. Its right up there with Two and half men for comedy

How about the name that buck game they all play?G2's or double drop 4.Please celebs stop naming those animals and just put them down.I guess I cant talk as I name my pets also.Lots of deer slang out there too_One thing that makes the OYOA show great is it is so simple.

I was appauled watching Elk Fever this weekend. Only 2 of 6 shows I saw (i know too many, but ondemnad makes it quick and hunting starts 8/27 boys) had hunters wearing orange?!
And. One 'PH' professional hunter on a guided trip to CO missed at 40 yds b/c he did not reset his site pin for the elk @ 20 yds? >A PH and a guide cannot judge distance? Too funny.
