A few weeks back, I posted some photos of where I like to hunt Black Tails in central California's Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Here is the same area today, after some snow fall last night.

I hiked about a mile from the truck, and cut a great track. I followed it for another 3/4 mile, but he bailed off into the thick stuff, and I was too lazy to follow.

Yep, it's been cold here in the mountains...Mt. Rose is covered and everyone is preparing for ski season. We were pounded for a few days straight of extremely high winds and rain low and a bunch of snow up high. Haven't heard yet how guys are doing on the NV/CA line but I'd expect the snow has helped some of the lucky tag holders.
