Next week is the SHOT Show, which for me, is the official launch of trade show season. We have to start producing the "loops" that sponsors use in their trade show booths. Most of them are designed to be a "pitch" of the sponsors products. This one is surely that, so take it for what it is worth.

One part is that we always try to put a bit of footage from the upcoming season in these loops. This one has that, from three different hunts; mountain goat, antelope, and mule deer.

This is a draft that has since been "tuned up" with more logos and graphics, but thought you might like to see another part of what is required as part of this TV gig. And a few small glimpses of what is in store for the coming year, in exchange for listening to a two minute advertisement about the Howa Alpine Mountain Rifle.

You guys get the first look at it. Hopefully Randy11 doesn't mind be a star at the Howa booth in Vegas next week.

I may have missed it, but did you mention the gun's weight in the video?

In the "tuned up version" there is a graphic that has the information. Rifle only is 5# 7oz. Rifle with the ring and scope packages available adds one pound to that.

(I know, I'm an ass)

That could be when we made him shoot again because the host screwed up the audio and latter part of the original segment by jumping up and down like a two year-old, shouting wild expletives about what a great shot he made.

When the camera guy looks at the host with the "Is this the first time you've done this?" look, you know you might have went overboard. Thankfully, the look is enough and he did not have to publicly scold me in front of the guys. Sorry, Randy. It was that great of a shot.

Video is well done, looks like a great rifle. Wish I still had an FFL, miss going to SHOT and seeing/handling all the new toys.

I liked the rifle before the video but really like it now...some very nice components for the dough.

R11 cameo notwithstanding...:)

Looking forward to when these will start to hit store shelves in MT. I'd kinda like to get my grubby little paws on one and see how I like it...

I know SW has them, but they don't stay on the racks for long. Next time you are in town visiting the resident sheep hunter in your family, I could let you take one of mine to the range.

I will be at the SHOT show again this year. I will take a good look at this new Howa. I am looking for a new mountain rifle for a friend. The 7mm-08 might be a great rifle. See ya there Randy.

:D

I've never seen anyone who could keep their eyes open when the recoil starts. It makes a difference when the screen shot is taken. :) My guess is the dead goat didn't know if it was a flinch.

Now what I would have like to see is a screen shot of Randy11's face when the dump of a lifetime hit him like a tsunami and he missed the first opportunity at that goat the evening before.

(edit.) :W:Okay, so I went back and watched the video again. You were right J.R. that screen shot was pre-recoil. However, you're still an ass.:D
