Shayna's First Deer

So glad to hear of another youth hunter entering the ranks. I think it is even sweeter that it took longer than pulling up to an alfalfa field and tipping one over.
She's a pretty adventurous kid. She got a little red in the face hiking in (it's about a mile up there), but a hunt like that was definitely more her thing.

That's a Remington 600 - .243. it's a a pretty old rifle but certainly still has it where it counts. We've tipped over a lot of deer with it.
Congratulations on the young hunter getting her first day. Way to go and congrats to dad as well. I noticed it was a Model 600 in the picture. I have the same rifle in a 6mm Remington that is the Montana Territorial addition and 75th Anniversary of Statehood - 1964. Great little rifle.
