Sharing my Montana 2019 trip

A few more pictures. I would encourage anyone thinking about going on your own, to go. Its a huge mental battle to show up somewhere new and start hunting. It does not matter if you shoot something. Luckily I had a friend to go mule deer hunting and some elk hunting with. But we were both new to the area for elk hunting. I also can't believe I drew a 700 region antelope tag with no bonus points.

Antelope on the neighbors next to block management.

Always check the air in the spare tire, I didn't. But a dually has two extra spares all of the time.

When you smell elk, STOP immediately and start glassing. I bumped 3 bulls 60 yds away by taking two extra steps. The beds were still steaming when I got there.

Yeah, its that steep and I am out of shape even thinking I was in shape.

Great post, thanks for sharing your amazing adventure. I did a similar trip last year and will be going back, soon I hope.

Looks like an awesome trip for sure. I used to spend a lot of time up your way just south of Escenaba hunting and fishing.
