Passed on this buck, mostly because I didn’t have a TAG! Ranged him at 63yds. He's a shooter in my book all day long and twice on Sunday. I'm not much of a numbers guy but what do you guys think he would score?

So here's the question, do I burn my points and draw a guaranteed muzzloader tag to hunt him next year or do I use my points on a "quality" rifle unit and try to hunt him in 2013 or 2014. This is assuming he is still alive or he has passed on his genes. I've seen some other good bucks in the area so it wouldn't be a total loss if I never saw him again.

I would go for him w a muzzleloader as soon as you get a tag in your hands,,,bucks like that are very sparce on any public land where i live.just practice and make that 1 shot count,,,thats what i prefer to hunt with myself.

Summitthunting, good thing you're an honest man because a buck like that could turn a lesser man into a poacher. If you can get a shot at him next year you better take it. I watched the buck of my dreams last year through the winter and into spring/summer and then this past season I never saw him again.:(

Pretty Buck I think if he only has the extra 1 inline and the kickers then he is about 168 + 12" of trash so 180" I think if you shoot him thinking 190 you would get some ground shrinkage with that being said in all but the best units I would shoot him and be very happy. If you are good with you're Muzzy stuffer go for it.
