Today I attended the first combat death memorial ceremony at 10th Group since I retired. It was very strange for me to be there as a civilian and not be the one running the ceremony as had been part of my job while assigned to Group. The crowd numbered somewhere north of 600 and I sat amongst a sea of multi cam in the overflow tent. The order of the ceremony was familiar, I knew what was coming and when but that still didn't make any easier. We celebrated the selfless sacrifice of SFC Cribben today. He died while protecting his team on their exfil from a target. He was a husband, a father to 2 young boys and a warrior. I have no doubt he is now in the great hall of Valhalla and I hope to join him there some day. Tonight please pray for comfort and peace Shelly and the boys. De Oppresso Liber!!

Respect to Sgt Cribben. Rest in peace soldier, and may the spirit of God be with your family.

I wish the best for his young family and I'm thankful for brave men like himself. Thanks for your service.
