Attended a talk tonight by Steven Rinella at Viterbo University in Lacrosse Wisconsin tonight that focused on hunters ethics. It was framed by today being the anniversary of Aldo Leopold writing the forward to his Sand County Almanac.

The talk was exactly as I think most of us would expect from Rinella, with very little reason for me to summarize it as it wouldn't surprise any of you. What was really impressive was that I don't think anyone anticipated that all 1200 seats in the auditorium would be filled. It was really awesome to see.

Not even members of the MeatEater crew/family were guaranteed front row seating. They shared the nosebleed seats with us after we were able to convince everyone in the row to condense and make room for 3 more seats.

Afterwards there was a book signing and people were lined up out the door.

I really wanted to head down there but it was just a bit too far of a drive. Sounds like it was worthwhile.

I missed him in Madison 2 years ago so I was absolutely going to LaCrosse, unfortunately I was scheduled to work but came down with the flu real bad if you know what I mean!! Funny how that works!

Rinella seems like a good guy. I see he has a Kaibab bison tag down here in mid July.
