Three of us were out hunting today for a nice tom lion and had my dogs blow up in the box on a full, fledged rig around 1:30 pm. We were headed up a narrow canyon with good snow cover on both sides of the road and a freeze in our faces. One of the guys I was with said, "wouldn't that be neat if there was a kill up here?" We drove on up the road about two hundred yards and found a mule deer killed by a lion during the night. The warm afternoon sun had melted out the track, but the hole sizes indicated a female lion. Fun stuff!
