Hi, my dad gave me this gun a cpl yrs ago, I just shot it this fall. It was made in 1966-67. I am wondering how many rnds it is supposed to hold in the magazine. I ask because two go in no problem, third is a lil snug to put in the magazine, however, it will not come out easily at all, the bolt is unable to move it forward. If only two are meant to fit, fine, problem solved. If it's 3 then I'll need to play with it some. Thanks much

Should be three in the belly, perhaps to mag well is tweaked or there's a point of friction somewhere that makes the 3rd tough to get in? Gunk or debris under the spring/follower maybe?

I'm going to take the stock off tonight and look, pretty sure my dad never did and he isn't around to tell me if it has had this issue all along. Will report back what I find. This rifle makes me appreciate all my guns with floor plates!

Thanks for the replies, took the stock off, wiped things down & a cpl very small, seemingly insignificant chunks off dry grease came out. Put it back together & now holds three as it should. Guess it doesn't take much to foul it up in there. JR, my first gun was a ruger with the ugly stock on it, with a floor plate. The only gun my dad had without a floor plate was this gun, and god help the dumb kid that touched it, so all guns I used had one so I stuck with it. I watched my dad shoot his last deer & his last elk with this gun. He shot griz, moose and caribou with it before I was around. Very accurate gun. I mite not be crazy bout the lack of a floor plate, I'll get used to it though. This is my "new" gun for elk, that ruger is now reserved for my kids.
