Chappell still is....I can think of several who are funny.
I can name hundreds who are not,nor ever have been.

No question that Kinison was funny. It may have helped that he snorted enough cocaine to kill a donkey, it may have come from the Traumatic Brain Injury he suffered when he was struck by a car.
If you are looking at Sam as funny (he absolutely was), but looking at comics of today and not seeing it, you gotta look around. The funny is there.

Humor is subjective. It depends on the comedian but I still find some of them funny.
