We who have responsibility for kids days at a time need cartoon entertainment. Some are good for us as well as a distraction to hold the kids while we have to take calls, do chores. I’m Looney Tunes till I die. The music score alone is fantastic and very good exposure for young ears. But those good ones are relegated to reruns on premium subscription or youtubes. So for the current offerings:

#1Bluey. Funny stuff! Those writers get it and don’t need to kowtow to the puritanical FCC because it’s an Australian show.

#2 Molly of Denali. It’s a show that’s from the perspective of an indigenous girl in AK. My toddler is infatuated with AK now, bonus! And I know Molly’s town had to be influenced by Talkeetna. Been there and very similar. When I take him there it’ll be like Disney World.

#3 Wild Krats- these guys have been doing the Jack Hannah 20-odd years now. The current iteration is a mostly cartoon (dudes got old). It’s unauthentic and unrealistic (there are different recurring evil actors who have unlimited resources, but always fail to take the animals). All that aside, this provides different animals world-over in every episode and I’m grateful for that.

So let’s hear it, what else do you guys show your kids?

Those are the same ones we enjoy. I remember watching the Kratt brothers as a kid and all my boys enjoy watching them.
I like paw patrol as well and my kids absolute favorite cartoon is Tom and Jerry... the older versions though.

If they aren't watching that stuff then they go to my DVD stash of Primos hunting or bone collector/realtree.

My 2 year old son loves all facets Story Bots on Netflix. Very educational for a young child. The songs are also very catchy. I have them in my head probably 70% of my day🙄. He also loves Puffin Rock and Bluey. We'll have to check out Molly of Denali. Sounds interesting!

My boy, who is 5, loves a Netflix show called Grizzly and the Lemmings. It's a Pixar-style animated show about a cartoon G-bear and a gang of lemmings who feud constantly, usually over a jar of Nutella. There's actually no dialog, and the humor is all slapstick and visual pranks/jokes. Strongly reminiscent of Coyote vs Roadrunner, except neither party is intelligent like the Roadrunner. Most of their scheming against each other ends with neither side getting the Nutella jar.

I'll be honest, I watch it with my son and often find myself cracking up at how elaborate some of the nonsense the characters get into is. I highly recommend it.

Forgot to add: Shaun the Sheep. I for sure like it more than my kid. It’s claymation and an improvement spin-off from Wallace and Grommet. The show doesn’t worry about feelings; instead liberally insults anyone looking for an insult. Premise is Shaun and the LGD Blinzer carry the farm operations because the farmer is a moron. They have lots of terrifying dances with death every episode having great fun.

Ok, not cartoons, but good content for kids. I should read to my children more, but more often than not, the bedtime routine I have with them, outside of hollering at 'em for the fifth time to get to bed, usually involves a YouTube video as opposed to a book. We have a few YouTube channels we watch, and they are great for adults and kids alike.

This guy does a lot of science, engineering, and just explaining how things work. Last night we watched one on the Coast Guard.

All of em are family friendly, and I think I learn as much from them as my kids. For all the poison on the YouTube, there is some really great stuff too.

Destin from SED has taught me so much as an adult. Crazy science in some of the most every day things.

My Nephew loves Paw Patrol, Blues Clues, Magic School Bus and Bill Nye. I've also found that the Toy Story movies are great when i'm looking after him and I need to get some work done.
