With high anticipation I blew out of here after work like a bullet. I was headed to Canyon Ferry lake 2.5 hours away because I'd heard the bite was on. When I got there I sensed there was something really wrong. I ran into a work associate and he told me that shortly before I arrived a 3 year old boy had been involved in a bad accident. The guy I knew had actually performed CPR on the little boy until the emergency crew arrived. It had everyone in the area shook up. I stuck around and fished for a couple hours. I caught some big fish, but I just couldn't really get into it. With still some daylight left I got back in my car and drove home. I learned last night that the little guy didn't make it. He lived for about two days and then his heart just gave out. I can't imagine what his parents must be going through. I'm also concerned about the guy I knew that performed CPR as he was mentally pretty worn out from the whole ordeal. Fishing is supposed to be fun and relaxing, this was pretty much the opposite of that. My heart really goes out to that little boy's parents. Here is a short report I found on it this morning.

Damn, I hate hearing about these stories. Prayers for that family and the responders who were there to help.

The story about the boy on the dock, and your friend trying to save his life is awful. In the last two weeks two little boys in the Helena area have died. Though Landon is now gone, I hope your friend knows he did all that he could. Even though Landon did not survive, those who kept his body alive as long as they could allowed his family to hug him one last time, and his organs were donated to other children who will live because of his gift.

Thoughts for your friend and the family of Landon. These stories make me wanna quit work for the day, pull my kids out of school, and spend every moment I have with them.

That's terrible. My parents once kept a water skier with a broken neck alive by administering CPR until the paramedics arrived. It's a terrible thing to witness and they always took extra precautions with me and my brother when we were on the water as children. I have a friend who lost one of his friends to a freak accident while they were boating. It still haunts him. And there is a couple in our community who's toddler drowned while on a family outing at the river. You can't be too careful. Prayers to all involved.

Prayers to all involved I have been in those shoes as a LEO and a gun shot wound during a hunting accident case. Things don't affect me much but that is one case that still weighs on my mind today and it was around 15 years ago. I couldn't imagine what the family and your friend are going through. So sad poor baby.

There was a kid who died after hours at my wifes school. A coach and two administrators all did cpr. They were a wreck for a week after. My heart goes out to all involved. Baf days aren't really as bad after you hear stuff like this
