Razco with a large revolver

I have a redhawk 44 mag with a 5.5” barrel (I know, should’ve went lighter but it is what it is at this point). I’m looking into a razco to carry under my bino harness, anyone try this setup with a larger revolver? I used to carry it on my pack, but find myself leaving it out of reach. Really I want to make sure that it doesn’t impede my movements while hiking.

I have one for my Ruger GP100. I like it, I agree with BcGunworks if you are crawling or crouching it might get uncomfortable. But you would run into that with any chest holster. Even on an FHF harness it sits pretty low.

That’s exactly what I was looking for, thanks! I couldn’t find a clear view of where it would ride with a larger revolver. I see what everyone is saying as far as crawling goes and it’s a valid point, but that probably amounts to 1% if the hunt.

Yeah other than that it works great! Holds the revolver well and is pretty easy to take on/off.

If you have to take your defensive firearm off to do something you may want to explore other carry options. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah, but if I take it off my rifle will be in my hand. I’m more worried about the rifle being strapped to my pack and needing a weapon. I’d probably reevaluate if I was going archery though.

You don't NEED to take it off. But it will likely get dirty, even a leg holster is going to get dirty if you are belly crawling. I don't know many people that belly crawl with a bino harness on though lol

striving to take the best shot from the most stable position possible I tend to find myself in the prone a good bit of the time which generally requires at least some level of crawling to get the position just right.

I generally look the keep the gun high on the chest or a drop style holster worn on a gunbelt....not a thigh rig.

It's real easy to slide my Diamond D chest rig around to under-arm carry if I need to crawl. Does the Razco do this? Laying on my rig does effect my breathing for prone shots.

Probably not when it’s attached to the bino harness, they sell a standalone that’s similar in design to a diamond d though.
