Quick AK Fishing Help!

I just got a call from my father who, unbeknownst to me, is in Anchorage at the moment with no meetings starting until Saturday evening. He'd like to do some fishing (preferrably halibut) but hasn't done any research who to call...any suggestions?

Head to Homer but understand that most charter baots book way in advance. L would do my bets to get on as a stand by and contact as many charters as possible to get on thier stand by list. Lots of people don't show up and I have hopped on a boat in the past but you need to be in Homer at the dock ready to go very early in the morning.

they run out of Ninilchik, which is 1/2 the drive that Homer is.....

I recommend Pro-FishN-Sea or CrackerJack charters out of Seward. It's only a 2 hour drive from Anchorage and he can also catch silvers while he's there. I went last weekend with some friends and we killed the halibut and silvers.
