Question , Tell me about Little Belt Mountains in Montana for Elk

Hey guys. Am going Elk hunting to area I've never been to....."Little Belt Mountains" area 30-40 miles east of Cascade Montana.....What can I expect in that area, anyone familiar with it? I'm brand spanking new to Elk hunting , this will be my first trip. Is that a good area for a good bull etc? THANKS!

Good bulls, Thick timber, and Mean steep country. If you are in good physical condition, you should do fine.

I dont think it is very steep it is nothing like the western part of the state or down by Yellowstone, but it is some nice country. If you dont mind walking you can get away from the road hunters.

cathunt, Whats staying the hell out of JK mean? ??? is there much public land? I guess I will be hunting on the largest deeded ranch in Montana. Not on public land..... Outfitters have leased most of the ranch though......
