This is sort of a resurrection of a former thread so apologies to the other OP who asked for the name given to your favorite gun. I give my dogs names because they need to answer to them, but guns are inanimate and only an extension of the hunter. Nevertheless, though I have never given a gun a name, it might be fun to pick a name that has some kind of meaning ... or just for the helluvit.
I would lable my sporterzed WWII Springfield "Voldemort" after the dark wizard in Harry Potter. Voldemort was capable of deadly magic. During his resurrection Voldermort also endured several painful transformations that sometimes failed to produce the desired results, but in the end he became an effective and ruthless killing machine. Yes, he was eventually undone by some young upstart AR ("MSR"), but remember, Potter couldn't do it with his own pop gun wand. He had to fall back on an old caliber (Dumbedor's wand) to beat Voldemort. I'll rewrite the script so my Voldemort doesn't wind up with a featureless face-lift.
