Some time back, Big Fin welcomed me to check out his website - said I might find some like minded individuals there. I watched this site for quite awhile, never jumping in because I wasn't real sure that many guys "like minded" to my mind set were here. I also never had much good to say about computers in general...tend to be outside more than in. Then comes the current Montana legislative session. I start to see the rumblings of unrest among some of the Montana regulars on this sight and it catches my eye. As the lunacy in Helena has progressed, this sight, I think, has realized it's real potential. As a place to "network" (can't believe I used that word), this sight has given Montana residents and non-residents a place to find a common voice to stand up together for our resource(s). In the last month I have seen a group of guys, a lot of us not even knowing each other, band together for a common cause. I wonder what the legislative results would be (so far) if some of the guys on this sight hadn't banded together to raise hell (along with other outdoors folks). I have a pretty secure hunch that we have been able to make a substantial difference. Good to "work" with ya Shoots Straight, tjones, Rocky Dog, Ben Lamb, Draathar, Horn Seeker... just to name a very few....oh yeah, and the guy who started the sight. This sight helps prove that outdoorsmen/women are a powerful force. Hope more folks jump into the pool.....

+1, onpoint, and we're not quit into the 4Th quarter. This is where conditioning takes over. The team with the greatest stamina will win the day. So suck it up and keep it coming. No surrender.:hump:

I might add, many individuals that post on this site have some of the best minds, and greatest understanding, of all sportsman forums, web wide. I know, I've been booted by the best of them. :D

Oscar`s been doing political work in MT? ;)

good post though. The guys that are in helena right now fighting for MT sportsmen need to know that there`s a bunch more that have their back and have been calling and writing.

Actually, we aren't even quite into the fourth quarter. But when we get there, especially towards the end, look for the bad guys (lets call them the Dallas Cowboys) to
go with a no huddle offense to try and confuse and stimy us (the defense). There is a lot of really bad legislation just lurking, waiting to get rammed down our throats. I hope human nature doesn't take over and folks start to tire of this reality crap. That's how they'll be able to stick it to us. Iv'e been tempted to say what's really on my mind - concerning "sportsmens apathy" - but most individuals would be offended and I may be booted from a website. Such as it is, I'll stick to the teamwork approach. We are doing good, hopefully we can ramp it up when we need to. Shoots, I don't know the meaning of surrender ;)

Hey Onpoint, im honored to be included in that list of upstanding people. However to tell you the truth those guys you mentioned are very active in their sportmens clubs and i am not. I have only sent a few emails and voice messages to legislators as a result of what ive learned through others on this board.

Without huntalk i would not have known about alot of what is going on, the guys that have been intensely involved and especially Big Fin deserve alot of respect in my book.

Ernesto by several of the posts you put up yesterday i think maybe you were doing some drunk websurfing. Some of your posts reminded me of the kids over on Tinesup.com

Those couple emails and voice mssg's are a 100's % more involved than the many who sit on the side lines sucking up all (liquor in some cases:)) the fun but not sucking it up and being involved in trying to keep what have...for us and future generations. I can't believe there are so called outdoorsmen - that have kids that are budding hunters/fishers - that don't pass on the active conservation message to the kids.......the kids watch & learn from their parents' action/inaction. An email here, a voice mssg....those of us that are "activists" all started somehow.
