I think there are situations where it makes sense, but in general I think we could do without Oxford comma in most instances

What's an Oxford and why does it have a comma? Should I have put a comma between the words Oxford and and? Probably should have put quotation marks around the words Oxford and second and right there. But I'm not sure. What other type of comma's are an option, and do they look any different? I think I learned all this stuff back in high school but damn that was a long time ago.

OH... OH. I think I figured it out. An Oxford it the place people would cross the creek with their ox carts, back in the olden days, right? And the comma is to show the hesitation of the oxen upon entering the creek. One of those "interesting facts" Sheldon is always talking about.
