Word travels fast in Idaho! My first post (journal) was not meant as a flame on the outfitter. I simply had a couple concerns that needed addressed before recommending to others. Hopefully the bayonet wording was not taken literally. I had just had a crappy day....pun intended. So in a too late effort to remove foot from mouth and to clear any issues I've done this.
To be more fair I picked up Oscar's suggested rating system of my outfitter for me recent trip for moose, caribou, wolf.
Listed are ratings of significant factors of the experience. Ratings are 1 to 10 with 1 being bad, 10 being best. Ratings fall under three categories (who is responsibe for the experiece. 1. Luck 2. Me 3. Outfitter
Laughs/good times 10 me, outfitter
Fishing 5 luck
Camp facilities 10 outfitter
Food 8 outfitter
Weather 4 luck

TOTAL Luck=34 Me=13 Outfitter=68
Average Luck=4.85 Me=6.5 Outfitter=8.5
So there you have it....Luck was below average, Outfitter ranks a very solid 8.5 out of 10.
I did speak with the outfitter about the 2 issues I felt were significant. After talking both through, one is a non-issue. A misunderstanding on my side.
The remaining concern was valid. He thought it about it and said "That's a valid point". He said he'd look to do things differently in the future. If you are serious about booking a hunt with him, I'm sure he'd discuss it with you.
Overall, he offers a good value, with a real shot at trophy quality (words can't do that 71" bull justice. The 60" and 53" had super mass as well.
